Today we started a new tradition in this house. Last year I almost made one, but I'm glad I waited as it is certainly a little easier with a two and four year old than with a one and three year old.
First you bake four very simple shapes...
then you make some icing to stick it all together...
then you stick on the decorations...
Voila, the front and back of our very first gingerbread house!
P.S. I'm pleased to report that it was happily devoured by hoards of young children and teenagers at our family Christmas Day.
