Stripped bare

Thursday night saw Shawn and I in the dining room stripping the wall paper off the walls. Throughout our house we have textured 'asylum green" walls. They are certainly pretty ugly. The only thing uglier is when the bottom half of the wall is covered in some fake wood.
Somehow over dinner with my friend Mike we decided to remove the fake wood and the wallpaper. So now instead of looking like this...

They look like this...

Check out the wallpaper which we discovered hiding underneath the fake wood. I might have been tempted to keep it around for a little laugh for a while, only it had that 'special' smell that only decades old paper wallpaper can have.

My Mum and Dad are up this weekend for a couple of days. So Dad, interior decorator by trade, is hopefully going to help me put something new up on those bare walls.
