There have been a lot of Monarchs at our place recently. We had to bring them inside because they were not faring particularly well with the quick drop in temperature, and against the beady eyes of our chickens (as they roam around free in our garden everyday).
In mid April we counted about 22 caterpillars on our clump of swan plants in the children's garden. Many hatched and we currently have a couple of little caterpillars and one butterfly outside.
We strung up some of the chrysalis on the lounge wall so they would survive and hatch in the warmth of our home.
