Today little guy you turned one. It seems as though it was just a couple of months ago when we were told "Congratulations, it is a boy" To which your Mama replied "Really? A boy!?" Your daddy and I were ecstatic. We had never even contemplated the idea that you might have been a boy, and had just assumed that you would be a girl. How happy and perfect that seemed.
You were 9lbs / 4kg, which was another shock for Mama especially. Those lovely obstetricians warned me that you were going to be big, but nothing could have prepared your 5'3.5" / 160cm Mama for that either.
We had a single name picked out for you, luckily it worked for a boy as much as for a girl, so in that instant you became our Sacha (defender of mankind) Makoto (kind/sincere). Although, for the first week or two Mama called you "Sparrow", because it seemed you were always (when awake) searching for sustenance with your mouth wide open like a baby bird. It was no surprise that you have grown as fast as you have.
Sacha our beautiful boy, you are delight, and along with your sweet big sister Sofia have completed the little circle of our family. You have a beautiful soul and already possess such an adventurous spirit. Daddy, Sofia and I look forward to sharing some of those special adventures with you.
