Today the much anticipated chickens arrived at our place. They are a mixture of ages ranging from 6 to 13 weeks. They should begin to lay in the next couple of months or so.
Shawn finished building chicken palace last week. I painted the roof sections white and Sofia and I painted the four sides of the house with decking stain to help protect it from the weather a little as we have used untreated wood.
We have four girls. Two Plymouth Barred Rock called Olive and Daisy, and two Australorp called Bettie (aka Black Betty) and Penny (aka Henny Penny). They are well settled in here and are growing more and more friendly all the time.
I promise not to bore you all with too much chicken talk. We are super excited to have them here though.
