Feijoa love

Today we took a little walk down the cycleway/walkway which joins the bridge over the stream at the end of the cul-de-sac. We wanted to see if there were any feijoas ripe and awaiting our eager hands. We had a lovely walk in the autumn sunshine to the community orchard where many feijoas were found awaiting our visit. Actually we found a neat little pile just under the tree. It was almost as if they were piled up for us.
My babies love the aroma and sweetness of this quintessential autumnal fruit. We planted two young saplings last winter, which have a single offering between them for us this year. They are still just over a metre tall. When they grow a little I'm sure we will have more fruit than we know what to do with.
In the meantime, don't you worry lonely orchard, we'll be back!
