Going to a Steiner School makes my children aware of where their food comes from. I really love that they know that bread can be mixed, risen, shaped, and then baked using your own hands (not just bought from a shop) and they can both be a part of that process.
Sofia loves to make buns at her nursery with her teachers, and even Sacha when told he is off to playgroup says first the teacher's name and then 'buns'.
Sofia was making buns at home this morning for her lunch a little later. They are from my five grain dough, and she chose her favourite seeds for topping.
