Pear Tree Love

The weekend before last we stumbled across an amazing find... A grove of pear trees. There were some rather small new ones in two straight lines. Then there were the remains of what was once an orchard, in the form of these giant pear trees! (Henderson in West Auckland is full of Vineyards and Orchards) We quickly whipped out a bag and filled it up. They were destined for preserving to enjoy during those cold wintry months, and for a dessert or two.


Then on our way back to the car we spotted this Elvis memorial. "Only in West Auckland" we said to ourselves. I know my Mum would dig it!
