A lot has changed in our dining room since we moved in. We took some snaps during the brief open home, but they are truly too disgusting for public viewing. So, I'll just walk through the photos we took since we moved in.
When we moved in there were some very sexy plastic vertical venetian blinds (think 80's office block). The wallpapered walls were painted asylum green, and from the mid-point on the wall there was some very ugly plastic wood (why? I'm not too sure). It was all seriously ugly.
So here it is before...

We stripped that plastic wood and discovered a veritable time capsule of wallpaper beneath. If it hadn't smelt like something from the ark I may have been tempted to leave it for a while...
So, the wallpaper got stripped too. The ceiling and walls got a lick of neutral paint, and the old school venetian blinds and yucky net curtain made way for some wooden blinds. We also scored a new round dining table which means we can all sit together for a meal (instead of at two cafe tables) and we don't have to worry that they may tip.

This is what our dining area looks like now. The long black thing hanging on the wall is my wedding train. The bunting and the cake were there because it was our friend Mike's birthday that day.
