Today was our niece Holly's 7th birthday party. She had the party at a place in West Auckland called Crystal Mountain. They have a small farm with (loveable llamas, donkeys, emus, ponies, calves, lambs, geese, ducks, and peacocks). Although the farm part was closed that day. Instead the children all panned for crystals. Surprisingly Sofia was really into it and after she had discovered the crystals herself she set about putting them into her bag to take home. It was so sweet.
After panning for crystals they all had a chance to have a pony ride. Sofia had never touched a horse or seen one up close so she was naturally quite bemused. She touched the pony's nose and then it's mane and was pretty happy.
When the girls asked if she would like a ride, we said okay. She was so tiny up on the pony. she gripped really tight with her legs and at one point held on with just a single hand. We are pretty sure she liked being on the pony. 
Happy birthday sweet Holly for the 18th. We love you!
