Today we had a visitor in our garden. It was a lovely big weta. Sofia loved him and sat watching him sunning himself until he tried to climb the side of her swan plant pot and fell into the neighbours garden.
I just love wetas although they used to scare the pants of me as a child. They are such interesting creatures, and I love that they are unique to our New Zealand backyard.
How long since you last saw a weta?

we have a plastic weta in our London garden! We put it on the top of the fence so our neighbours would think there was a weta (they're also partially kiwi).
